We moved out of our apartment and into our travel trailer on July 23, 2023. Our lease was up, and it made sense. We had been purging and donating our belongings for months leading up to our launch. We had also acquired our Keystone Cougar 22 MLS three months ahead of time so that we could take it out on a series of test runs prior to officially moving in. Our first stop was Alum Creek Campground north of Columbus. That is where we got the cats used to their new digs before heading to the FamCamp at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. We stayed there for about six weeks while Greg finished up work before he retired.

Now

As I write this we are in a peaceful campsite near Chattanooga, TN. There are dog catchers trying to catch two loose dogs in the woods around our campsite while Cleo sleeps blissfully unaware on the catio. I have a cinnamon cake in the oven for no particular reason. And when Greg returns from getting a piece for our broken tonneau cover, we will grab the floaties and get in the big ol’ lake to cool off! This is so much better for us than living in a house and having to take trips for these experiences. (Why pay property taxes for a house that would sit empty the majority of the time? Not yet, at least.)

Ah, Alum Creek…we remember it well. (Those two years were six-eight years ago to us cats!) We had no idea that we were going to actually LIVE in that thing! But we acted like we liked it and then, as much as we hate admitting it, we actually ended up liking it. Well, “like” is a generous term. The cat code requires us to not actually like anything.
